HUSH: They can hear Controls – Every PC Key and Mouse Input
The full PC control list for HUSH: They can hear: movement and sneaking on foot, looting and interaction prompts, the paper map, combat binds and every car key — including the bindings that change behind the wheel.
Quick answer
HUSH: They can hear is played on keyboard and mouse. On foot: WASD to move, Space to jump, Shift to run, C to crouch and Alt to dive; E to use things, Tab for the backpack, M for the map, F for the flashlight and N for night vision. In a fight: 1, 2 and 3 pick weapon slots, left click fires, right click aims and R reloads. In a car: F to get in and out, Shift to drift, B for the seat belt.
- Move and sneak: WASD move, Space jump, Shift run, C crouch (C while running slides), Alt dive
- Interact and loot: E use, Tab backpack, M map, F flashlight, N night vision — containers also take R for TAKE ALL
- Fight: 1 2 3 weapon slots, Q holster, left click fire, right click aim, R reload, I inspect, V first person
- Drive: F in and out, Shift drift, B belt, G wipers, H horn
On foot: moving and sneaking
The movement keys come straight from the developer's official controls list for the beta. WASD moves, Shift runs, Space jumps, C crouches and Alt dives. One input is worth memorizing: press C while running and your character slides into the crouch instead. When to run and when to stay low is its own decision — the tips and tricks guide covers the quiet side in depth.
Interacting and looting
E is the all-purpose use key, and the game tells you when it applies: walk up to something usable and a context prompt appears, such as [E] OPEN on a toolbox, [E] SHUT on a door, [E] CALL EXTRACTION at an extraction post or [E] TYPE EXTRACT at a cargo terminal (the escape guide follows that extraction sequence). Containers can also confirm looting with R, which shows up as TAKE ALL on things like a crash cart.
Around those, Tab opens the backpack, M opens the map, F toggles the flashlight and N toggles night vision. For what to actually grab once the prompts appear, see the loot items guide.
The paper map
Pressing M makes your character hold up an actual paper map (labeled HUSH MAP / AREA MAP) instead of pausing into a menu. While it is up: the mouse wheel zooms, holding the left button moves the map around, holding the right button views it up close, and M puts it away. The best loot locations page goes deeper on reading what is drawn on it.
Combat and weapon slots
In a fight, 1, 2 and 3 select weapon slots, Q holsters, left click fires, right click aims, R reloads and I inspects the weapon. V toggles first person and works as a general view switch, not just with guns. The combat guide builds on these binds.
The inventory screen adds the loadout rule behind those slots: "Guns in slots 1 and 2, throwables in G. Get caught and you lose all you carry but your safe pocket." So you carry at most two guns plus throwables on G, and a run that ends badly costs everything outside the safe pocket — what happens when caught breaks down that loss.
Car keys: what changes behind the wheel
Driving reuses several keys for new jobs: F enters and exits the vehicle (on foot it is the flashlight), Shift drifts (on foot it is run), B fastens the seat belt, G operates the wipers and H sounds the horn.
Cars also start in two different ways. A van that already has keys shows [F] BREAK IN, and entering it turns up FOUND KEYS so you can drive straight off. A pickup without keys instead opens a hotwire mini-game: a ring with a rotating pointer appears, and you press Space the moment it reaches the green sector to start the truck. Space belongs to that minigame only — it is not one of the listed driving keys. The car controls page keeps the full driving layout in one place, and the hotwire guide covers keyless starts.
One layout for the whole run
Every stage of a run uses this same layout: move and sneak with the left hand, loot through E and R prompts, fight with the number keys and mouse, check the paper map with M, and drive out on the car keys. The beginner guide walks a full first run end to end, and tips and tricks rounds up habits that go beyond the raw binds.
